Fathers, don’t let your son’s 21st birthday pass without formally acknowledging it.
A few years ago, I was invited to a memorable 21st birthday celebration for a young man that I’ll never forget. Organized by his father, the evening brought together all the men who had significantly influenced the young man’s life. No peers were invited; it was solely a gathering of men his father’s age or older, a night dedicated to wisdom, guidance, and affirmation. This model of celebrating a milestone birthday is powerful and should be widely replicated.
