I fear this moment in american evangelicalism is far worse than simply failing young men. An "all of life for all of life" application, much like the Apostle Paul's entire approach, "entrust these things to faithful men who will teach others also" is lost in much of today's church. True biblical community is lacking across the board, not just for young men.

Very good and very important. My experience in Christianity was mostly in Baptist churches which are adamantly against infant baptism. However, I am becoming convinced of the wisdom of the practice. I really appreciate this article as it applies specifically to teenage boys, although I believe it should apply to the Christianization of girls as well.

Thanks so much for comments. Keep reading on why Presbyterians treat the children of believers as children of the God's promises. R. Scott Clark had a great series on this on his blog. Also, you may have missed part in the post, "In a church of baptized infants, the fathers and brothers of the covenant community come together to collectively raise the church’s sons, while the mothers and sisters do the same for the girls."

Yes. You may not remember my comment about mentoring a few months back, but this is exactly what I’m referring to: the need to practice the art of robust mentoring through all of life: infancy to the end. Thank you for your thoughts as always.
